Ex-Ill. governor's former fundraiser took poisonBy Chicago TribuneCHICAGO (AP) — The mayor of a Chicago suburb says toxicology tests show political fundraiser Christopher Kelly ingested a combination of a pain reliever and rat poison before he died. Kelly, a fundraiser for ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, was found Sept. 12 slumped over in a car park in Country Club Hills. He later died in a Chicago hospital. Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch on Wednesday said he is planning a news conference to announce the toxicology report on Kelly. An official with the Cook County medical examiner's office said the toxicology results by Wednesday afternoon had not been officially filed. Several days after Kelly's death, Country Club Hills police said they had determined it was an apparent suicide, pending results of the toxicology tests. ___ Information from: Chicago Tribune, http://www.chicagotribune.com Comments
