GLENDALE, Ariz. – Julie Annette Lahey, 49, of Glendale, Ariz., passed away suddenly Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, in Glendale, Ariz.

Julie was so many wonderful things – smart, funny, loving, and always up for a good game night or a visit to the office supply store. She was a friend and welcoming to everyone. Julie was a true gift to all of us.

Born Oct. 27, 1959, in Freeport, she grew up in Dixon, and went to Arizona in 1984. Since 1986, she worked at Richmond American Homes/MDC Holdings. She held many different positions in accounting, purchasing, construction administration, and finance. In 2004, her efforts were personally recognized with one of MDC’s first President’s Awards.

She is survived by her loving husband, David; her children, Megan Ayers and Andrew Lahey; her grandchildren, Derek, Madilyn, and Logan Ayers; her parents, Andrew and Judith Near; her siblings, Andrew Near and Kristi Wipprecht; and by many other loving family members.

Her memorial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at All Saints Lutheran Church, 15649 N. Seventh St., Phoenix, with a reception following. Arrangements were completed by Heritage Funeral Chapel, Peoria, Ariz.
