FREEPORT – Freeport Art Museum and Winneshiek Playhouse are calling for
actresses to perform in a collaborative V-Day Benefit Performance of “The Vagina
Monologues” to benefit the VOICES domestic violence program.

No acting experience or special preparation is necessary. Women of all ages and ethnicities are encouraged to come to Winneshiek Playhouse at 10 a.m. on Nov. 14 or               7 p.m. on Nov. 16.

For directions or more information on auditions, please visit wplay.org or call the Freeport Art Museum at 815-235-9755.

V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls that raises money and awareness through benefit productions of Playwright/Founder Eve Ensler’s award-winning play “The Vagina Monologues.” In 2008, more than 3,400 V-Day events took place around the world.

To date, the V-Day movement has raised more than $60 million and educated millions about the issue of violence against women and the efforts to end it.

Last year, two performances at Winneshiek Playhouse resulted in sold-out shows that raised $4,000 for VOICES.

The V-Day Benefit Performances of “The Vagina Monologues” will be March 6 and 13 at the Winneshiek Playhouse. All proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships and donations will go directly to VOICES.
