Duchesses lose in Streator: Erie, Fulton, BV pick up wins; Eastland falls in Lena

The Dixon Duchesses pushed hard but couldn’t get over the top in a 28-26, 25-14 NCIC Reagan loss in Streator on Tuesday.
Katie Kleinmaier had three kills, Catie Cox added two more and Maddie Sweeny led the defense with eight digs for the Duchesses.
Riverdale 2, Newman 1: The Comets could not close out the Rams, falling 15-25, 25-22, 25-20 in Port Byron.
Sarah Prendergast had 14 kills and Kaitlon Busser had 25 assists for Newman.
Erie 2, Amboy 0: Kara Snowden’s five kills and three blocks and Alex Hunter’s five kills and three digs led the Cardinals to a 25-15, 25-12 Three Rivers win at home.
Tess Burns added three assists, two digs and two blocks for Erie. Alex Howard set for five assists and Katelyn Garrison ripped four kills.
Bureau Valley 2, Morrison 1: Lauren Hasbrook had 17 kills and Gabby Fisch added eight kills and four blocks to lead the Storm to a hard-fought 27-25, 21-25, 26-24 Three Rivers win on the road.
Meghan Mussche paced the defense with 13 digs for BV (4-3, 2-0). Sam Shepard dished out 28 assists and Aubrey Franklin had 10 points, five aces and six kills for the Storm.
Fulton 2, Prophetstown 0: Kelsey Munck had 10 points, three aces and five kills as the Steamers remained unbeaten with a 25-17, 25-16 Three Rivers win on the road.
Amber Grant added five kills, Allison DeWeerdt had 10 assists and Kim Rogis chipped in with 10 digs for Fulton (3-0, 2-0).
Stephanie Patton led the Prophets (1-3) with four digs and two assists, and Ariel Hamstra served a pair of aces.
Le-Win 2, Eastland 1: The Panthers upset the defending Class 1A champions with a 25-16, 19-25, 25-13 win in Lena.
Milledgeville 2, Pecatonica 0: Taylor Kent and Keali Engelkens had five kills each to lead the Missiles to a 25-19, 25-16 win at home.
Kent added five blocks, Becka Whitmarsh had four blocks, Andrea Herin set for eight assists and Brianna Herin had eight digs for Milledgeville.
AFC 2, Indian Creek 1: Ashley Hahn spiked nine kills and set for 17 assists to lead the Raiders to a 25-16, 23-25, 25-14 nonconference win in Ashton.
Brooke White served for 16 points (4 aces) and Lindsey O’Dell added seven kills for AFC (3-0). Audra Lundquist had 14 points and Grace Kennay dished out 12 assists.
West Carroll 2, Warren 0: Chelsey Sipe set for 24 assists, served four aces and had five digs as the Thunder won 25-23, 25-15 at home.
Becca Fritz ripped 14 kills and Kelsey Bull added five kills and four digs for West Carroll (2-0, 2-0).
Faith Christian 2, Cornerstone 0: Parker Ortgiesen had five assists and Abigail Rosanas added four as the Falcons won 25-7, 25-21 in Grand Detour. Jessica Bonnell added three kills.
Paw Paw 2, Faith Christian 1: Bonnell had nine blocks and six kills for the Falcons (2-2) in a three-game loss to the Bulldogs.
Olivia South finished with five blocks and four kills and Ortgiesen had eight assists.
