Golden Warrior golfers defeat Rocks

Drake Mellott and Nathan Blackburn each carded 2-over-par 38s as Sterling defeated Rock Island 155-163 in a match played Monday at Highland Springs Golf Course in Milan.

Also for the Golden Warriors, Patrick Petrosky had 39 and Andrew Blackburn added a 40.

Princeton 180, Rock Falls 202: Collin Slattery’s even-par 36 led the Tigers past the Rockets at Hunter’s Ridge Golf Course in Princeton.

Tanner Brown led Rock Falls with a 42.

Polo 187, West Carroll 202: Josh Faivre’s 7-over-par 42 led the Marcos past the Thunder in a dual held at Edgewood Golf Course.

Garrett Radtke led West Carroll with a 45.

Forreston 176, Pearl City 210: Michael Osterloo led the Cardinals to victory with a 5-over-par 41 at Sunset Golf Course in Mount Morris.

Mid-County 188, Bureau Valley 190, Stark County 198, Williamsfield 209: Jordan Twidell and Riley DeBrock each had 43s to lead the Storm to second place in a four-team match held at Deer Valley Country Club.

The medalist was Mid-County’s Tauge Rux with a 42.

Girls golf

Prophetstown 238, Sterling 253, Indian Creek 269, Rock Falls 284: Jasmine Anderson carded a 54 to lead the Prophets to top honors in a four-team match held at Rock River Country Club in Rock Falls.

Also for Prophetstown, Annie Sandrock had 59, Molly Corbin had 60 and Lindsey Inskeep had 65.

The medalist was Sterling’s Ember Schuldt with a 2-over-par 39.

For Rock Falls, Haley Scott had 54.
