KEWANEE – A  Kewanee High School teacher, formerly of Rock Falls, was sentenced to four concurrent 4-year prison terms for sexually abusing a student in May and June.

Mario R. Olalde, 29, pleaded guilty in Henry County Circuit Court Tuesday to four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He must surrender his teaching certificate and register as a sex offender once he is released.

Olalde, a 1998 Rock Falls High School graduate, taught government and world cultures at Kewanee High for 4 years, Superintendent Chris Sullens said. He  also was an adviser for the school’s group interpretation team.
