Amp it up at Ampalooza - ROCK FALLS – Ampalooza begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at 103 W. First St., on the banks of the Rock River. This all-day music festival will feature 20 bands on two stages. Good buys along the highway - Stuff that fanny pack with the small bills – it’s garage sale heaven this weekend in Rochelle, Ashton, Franklin Grove, Morrison, Fulton and other communities along the Lincoln Highway.

Sponsored by the national Lincoln Highway Association, the annual Lincoln Highway Buyway winds through four states along the historic coast-to-coast highway. Anyone who owns property along the highway can participate. Fulton’s communitywide sales will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Got wheels, will show off - The 20th annual Polo Car, Truck & Bike Show, featuring the best in classic vehicles, including tractors, runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Dash plaques go to first 150 entries, and there will be a trivia competition, a muffler rapping contest, a 50/50 drawing and music by 3-D Sound. Register from 8 a.m. to noon for $10.

Music in Motion - STERLING – Runners and walkers can put their feet to good use Saturday at the ninth annual Music in Motion 5K at Westwood Sports and Expo Center.

Music in Motion proceeds benefit the Sterling School District’s elementary orchestra program, which provides instruments to students who otherwise can’t afford them. The race/walk, along LeFevre and McCue roads, begins at 8 a.m.

This weekend, it’s Oregreen - OREGON – The eighth annual Illinois Renewable Energy and Sustainable Lifestyle Fair runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ogle County Fairgrounds.

Visitors will find hundreds of renewable energy and sustainable living ideas. More than 100 exhibitors and 60 workshops will be featured, along with displays, tours, children’s activities, food and entertainment.
