“We are a chiropractic office,” says Stephanie Beelendorf, 25, the newest chiropractor to join the Family Chiropractic team. “Our specialty is the ProAdjuster, a machine we use for spinal adjustments. We’re the only business within a 70-mile radius that has it. It’s highly credible, it’s very specific, and there’s no pain when we adjust our patients – it’s very gentle.”

Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, by appointment Friday and Saturday. We also provide after-hours emergency chiropractic care.

Terms: All major insurances, cash and check.

Owner/manager: Beelendorf, 25, is a Sterling native and Newman Central Catholic High School graduate who did her undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa and her graduate studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport. She and her husband, Otis Varden, moved back to Sterling in March with their three children: Cameron, 6, Elexa, 3, and Kaelee, 6 months.

Founded: Family Chiropractic opened in Prophetstown 11 years ago; the Sterling office opened 2 years ago.

Motto: “Our assignment is your spine’s health and alignment.”

We’re special: “The ProAdjuster really sets us apart,” Beelendorf says. “It is big-time patient preferred. I’m also really big into sports injury; I do a lot of workshops. I also do a lot with nutrition and exercise, weight loss and stress reduction.”
