Barb Alexander, 60, of Chadwick, has been a sales associate in the J.C. Penney jewelry department in Northland Mall, Sterling, for 15 years.

She and her husband, Ray Alexander, 60, have three children – Brad Alexander, 41, of Sterling, Amber Smith, 37, of Lanark, and Erin Berg, 33, of Kansas City, Mo. –  and seven grandchildren. Barb is the daughter of Bette Morgan of Chadwick.

On-the-job lesson: Diplomacy.

Alma mater: I graduated in 1967 from Chadwick High School.

Philosophy: Pick an age you like and stick with it.

Oughta be a law: I’d want the world to be more logical.

Hearts: Golf, reading, traveling, going to plays and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Darts: Cleaning.

Haunts: Golf courses, bookstores and theaters.

Hero: President Barack Obama. I think he has common sense.

First job: Chadband’s Jewelers in Northland Mall. I was 28.

First car: A Chevrolet Chevette. I was 36 or 37.

Phobia: Bats.

I’d like to meet: Barack Obama.

Trading places: I’d like to be someone in J.C. Penney corporate.
