Woman arrested in cocaine probe

DIXON – Police have one suspect in custody and expect more arrests as they near the end of a 7-month cocaine investigation targeting south Dixon.

Clarissa E. Clark, 26, of Dixon, was arrested Monday in the 1100 block of Highland Avenue near Grace Johnston Park, where police say the itinerant woman sold about $200 worth of cocaine to a confidential informant.

Clark is being held in the Lee County Jail on $250,000 bond.

She is charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, punishable by 6 to 30 years in prison.

She also is charged with unlawful delivery and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, punishable by 4 to 15 and 1 to 3 years in prison.

Detectives followed Clark for about 6 months before opening a larger cocaine investigation in December, Sgt. Matt Richards said.

Detectives have targeted at least two other residents suspected of selling cocaine in the area, although they are not believed to have established any larger drug rings, Richards said.

Citing the ongoing investigation, Richards declined to say when the arrests are expected to take place.

Clark’s next court date is July 15.
