Aaron McGrath

CHANA – Aaron W. McGrath, 19, of Chana, recently of Morrison, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was employed by Nestle-Purina, Clinton, Iowa.

Aaron was born Jan. 13, 1990, in Rochelle, the son of Jeff Pinkston and Lorrie McGrath. He lived in Morrison the past two months.

Aaron was a 2008 graduate of Oregon High School and a member of Chana United Methodist Church.

He loved music, playing guitar, and working with cars.

Survivors include his mother, Lorrie (Richard) Francis of Chana; his father, Jeff (Kelly) Pinkston of Dixon; girlfriend, Jenna Hook of Morrison; two brothers, Joshua McGrath of Phoenix and Eric Francis of Chana; one sister, Chelsea McGrath of Chana; paternal grandmother, Imogene (Donald) Pinkston-Mattson of Rochelle; maternal grandparents, Chuck (Kay) McGrath of Rochelle, Rose (Rich) Burke of Orange Park, Fla., and Edna Francis of Omaha, Neb.; three aunts; two uncles; and nine cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William H. Pinkston.

The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Chana United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Alan Meyers, former pastor, officiating. Burial is at Daysville Cemetery,  rural Oregon. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
