SARASOTA, Fla. – Memorial service for Richard “Dick” Havener, who died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, and Barbara “Barb” (Compton), who died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, both of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Sterling, will be at 1 p.m. July 4 at Penrose Friends Cemetery, Freeport Road, Sterling. A luncheon will follow the service at the home of Mary and Bill Grant, 343 Rockside Drive, Dixon. Local arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Homes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Phillippi Shores Elementary School, Richard Havener Memorial Fund, 4747 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231; or Sarasota Sunrise Rotarian Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 19902, Sarasota, FL 34276.
