Cover opposing views on proposed wind farms
I want to know why anything to do with wind farms is put as the lead story on the front page of the paper. No one bothers to check the validity of anything these people say. I already proved in previous letters that Mr. Pedroni cannot be counted on to tell the whole truth, and yet anything he says is printed as the truth.
Now he claims property values won’t be affected by wind turbines. He claims two identical properties, one surrounded by 400-foot turbines, 1,400 feet away, and the other property 5 miles away, in the clear, will have the same value. That is absolutely absurd. Go to www.nowind farms.com and click on property value to know the truth.
The “community partnership program” is a line of bull; it is nothing new. All of the wind companies offer this to close neighbors without wind turbines. A person signs up and gets the money and then loses the right to complain or file a lawsuit if there are problems. It should be obvious this man will say anything to get his way.
But I digress, because all of that means nothing. If those turbines didn’t produce one watt of power, it does not matter. It is all about the money and nothing but the money. I use to think our local politicians looked out for our best interests, but they don’t. All they want is the money.
There is plenty of evidence that these turbines can cause problems, but our local Lee and DeKalb boards push this through because they want the money. They could care less about us poor, dumb country folk; we don’t know what’s good for us. The majority of the people on these boards live in Dixon and DeKalb and smaller towns, and won’t be living anywhere close to these wind farms.
I wonder how the vote would turn out if all of the people voting actually lived near a potential wind farm. Saying you would live among them and actually doing it are two different things.
A lot of people out there don’t read the letters to the editor. So I want to know when the paper will feature an article on the front page, lead story, from the opposing viewpoint? Or are they afraid that the wind farms’ image might be tarnished?
