Get ready to go Dutch: Celebration begins Friday in Fulton

FULTON – Break out the wooden shoes and get ready to go Dutch – the 35th annual Dutch Days celebration runs Friday through Sunday in this river town.

On tap are wooden shoemakers, tours of the “de Immigrant,” an authentic Dutch windmill, and a parade. Almost all events are free.



Among the events taking place Friday and Saturday are:

n Arts and crafts on Third Street between Ninth and 10th avenues, and at the former Fulton Fire Station, on Fourth Street between Ninth and 10th avenues.

n Tours of “de Immigrant.”

n A wooden shoemaker at the intersection of Fourth Street and 12th Avenue.

n Films of the Netherlands, at the Masonic Lodge, 1014 Fourth St., at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday, and 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.



Also Friday:

n Dutch dancing on Fourth Street at 3 p.m.

n An antique tractor cruise at 3 p.m. from the parking lot of First Reformed Church, 510 15th Ave., to the review stand at Fourth Street and 11th Avenue.

Among Saturday’s events:

n The Steve Klooster 5K memorial run/walk, starting at 8 a.m. at the former fire station, at the intersection of 10th Avenue and Fourth Street.

n An antique car display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fourth Street between 12th and 13th avenues.

n Street scrubbing at 2:30 p.m. on Fourth Street from Ninth through 13th avenues.

n The annual Dutch Days parade at 3 p.m., on Fourth Street from 13th to Ninth avenues.



All 3 days:

n Historical displays by the Early American Crafters at Heritage Canyon, on North Fourth Street. Cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children.
