Forreston's four-run fourth costs Panthers

The Forreston Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning to pull out a 6-5 baseball victory against the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers on Tuesday in Erie.

Michael Schneiderman hit a solo homer and Austin LeClere had two hits and two RBIs for Forreston (3-6). Michael Osterloo had an RBI and also picked up the win on the mound.

Eric Adcock drove in two runs for E-P (3-2), and Lukas Jepson had three singles. Beau Kirkpatrick added two singles and an RBI and Wes Proulx (0-2) took the loss in relief of Adcock.

Softball

Sherrard 3, Morrison 2: The Tigers scored a run in the sixth and another in the seventh to rally past the Fillies in Sherrard.

Hailey Hall singled, doubled and drove in a run for Morrison (4-2). Ashlyn Wieneke added a double, Amanda Smith and Keisha Hodge had singles, and Christie Wiersema struck out four and allowed two hits in the loss.

Kelly Hornick doubled and drove in a run for Sherrard. Rebecca Patterson struck out nine in the victory.

Tennis

Boylan 4, Newman 1: The Comets won only the No. 2 doubles match in an indoor meet in Rockford.

Evan Knack and Anthony Sterk paired to beat Boylan’s Ryan Dahlberg and Javier Diaz 4-6, 6-3, 11-9.

Newman fell to 1-1.
