Marilynn Setchell

SUBLETTE – Marilynn J. Setchell, 62, of Sublette, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Mendota Community Hospital. She operated Setchell Auctioneering with her husband and taught English at Amboy High School.

Marilynn was born July 13, 1946, in LaSalle, the daughter of Lawrence and Marion (Christopherson) Klinefelter. She earn a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. She married David Setchell on June 13, 1970, at Waltham Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Amboy School Board and a volunteer for Mendota Area Foods Resource Bank.

Survivors include her husband, David of Sublette; two daughters, Rebecca (Jayson) Stamburger of LaMoille and Laura (Steven) Fischer of Sublette; one brother, Skip (Joane) Klinefelter of Utica; two sisters, Joan (Jack) Kulpa of Utica and Bonnie Klinefelter of New York City; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Leah Stamburger, both at home.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, at First Presbyterian Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Dykstra officiating. Private burial is at a later date. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church, Mendota, and Sublette Fire Department.
