Polo approves adult entertainment ordinance
POLO - After months of discussion, the City Council unanimously approved an ordinance to regulate adult entertainment inside city limits.
As a precautionary measure, the Polo Zoning Board of Appeals suggested in June that the council consider creating an ordinance outlining the definition of adult uses, such as adult bookstores, adult entertainment cabarets, and adult theaters.
According to the ordinance, adult uses may be located in an area zoned Manufacturing-1, but shouldn't be within 1,000 feet of homes, churches, schools, parks, day-care centers, nursing homes, government offices, supermarkets or restaurants.
Before a permit will be issued for an adult use, the applicant must present a site plan review to the council, which has 60 days
