STERLING - The Rock River Valley International Fellow-ship brought 24 international students from Chicago-area universities to the Sauk Valley over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. They stayed with host families from Sterling, Rock Falls, Dixon, Amboy, Morrison and Harmon. This is the 50th year that the International Thanksgiving program has taken place in the Rock River Valley. On Saturday evening, an international buffet, candle-lighting ceremony and dance were held at the Woodlawn Arts Academy in Sterling. More than 100 guests attended. Along with the international students from Chicago and their host families, several international students from local high schools and Sauk Valley Community College and a U.S. State Department International Visitor Leadership representative from Indonesia attended.
