GIRLS BASKETBALL Faith wins opener Parker Ortgiesen scored 20 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and had four steals to lead Faith Christian to a 42-30 win over North Love Christian on Friday in Rockford. Also for the Falcons (1-0), Morgan Ortgiesen had 18 points, 12 rebounds and four steals, Kami Kielsmeier had six rebounds, six steals, five blocked shots and four points and Jessica Bonnell added 13 rebounds. Hallie Nelson led North Love with 16 points. BOYS BASKETBALL Faith loses first game David Bierdeman scored 12 points and grabbed 21 rebounds, but Faith Christian fell 35-31 at North Love Christian on Friday.
