Youth rally in Dixon for God

DIXON - Using dance, skits, prayer and monologues, area teenagers held a youth rally at John Dixon Park to praise their creator. The four-hour rally, organized by the Worship Center in Dixon, was attended by people from Dixon, Ashton, Oregon, Franklin Grove, Mendota, DeKalb, Stillman Valley and Spring Valley. Kristen Miller, 18, of Bloomington, came to the event to preach to the crowd of about 60 people. She intends to become a worship minister after graduating from college. "I hope this is the generation that goes forth in the heavenly realms," Miller passionately said. "... Let us be that generation." "How many of you want everlasting glory?" I know I want it," said Miller as the crowd clapped and raised their hands. Jabez Ministry, which is a youth ministry based at Calvary Lighthouse Church in Rochelle, performed at the rally. One performance was a dance to symbolizing death coming over people but the belief in God bring people back to life. As a Christian rock song played, teenagers with swords, resembling the army of God, fought off the teenagers in black robes representing death. Then God's army along with his prophets rose those remaining from the dead. "This is not just for entertainment, we're doing this to glorify God," said 17-year-old Chris LeFevre.
