Donations needed for Amboy couple who lost home to fire

AMBOY - Donations are being requested for Amboy residents Justin and Michelle Clayton, whose rental home at 300 W. Bacon St. burned down early Wednesday, killing their dogs.
"Their three dogs are dead, and they were like their children," said Jory Krystek, owner of River Country Properties and a friend of the Claytons.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross has given the couple enough money to stay in the Dixon Super 8 until about Saturday.
"We're working on short-term housing arrangements until donations come in," Krystek said.
Justin Clayton works at Allied Locke in Dixon.
Those who want to help can make checks payable to Justin and Michelle Clayton, and mail them to River Country Properties, 16 W. Wasson Road, Suite 20, Amboy, IL 61310. For more information, call Krystek at (815) 973-1197.
