Sterling girls win again

The Sterling girls basketball team earned its third straight road win with a 51-40 victory over Harlem on Saturday in Machesney Park. The Golden Warriors (6-2) held Harlem to 13 first-half points. Ashley Hammelman led Sterling with 15 points, Niki Rivera scored 10, and Kaitlin Loos added eight. Amboy 70, Indian Creek 36: Paige Lovgren made six 3-pointers en route to a game-high 22 points at the Amboy Shootout. Jessica Walter addded 17 points and Jaimi Machen scored 10 for Amboy (3-5). Boys Basketball Indian Creek 60, Amboy 52: Tyler Berogan led the Clippers (0-7) with 15 points, and Travis Nauman scored 13 in a loss at the Amboy Shootout.
