Schuldt's 34 leads Sterling past RF, Prophetstown

BY SVN SPORTS STAFF Ember Schuldt's 1-under-par 34 led Sterling to a triangular meet victory Monday over Rock Falls and Prophetstown at Prophet Hills Golf Course. The Golden Warriors finished with a team score of 181, comfortably ahead of the Rockets (211) and Prophets (264). Schuldt had four birdies and three bogeys in her round. She was backed by Megan Vandersee, Cady Schrader and Alicia Berogan, who each had 49. Stephanie Simpson had a 42 to lead Rock Falls. For Prophetstown, Emily Mosher had a 59. Boys golf Rock Island 163, Sterling 168: The Rocks topped the Golden Warriors in a match held at Highland Springs Golf Course in Milan. Rock Island's Andrew Ledford was the medalist with an even-par 36. Josh Kunde was low for Sterling with a 40. Rock Falls 149, Pecatonica 174, East Dubuque 184: The Rockets shot a school-record team score en route to an easy win at Westlake Village Golf Course in Pecatonica. Jarred Hippen led the way with a 1-under 34, and Mitch Johnston (37), Ryan Raab (38) and Josh Arthurs (40) also contributed to the team score. Zak Kloster (40) led Pec and Darin Schultz (43) paced East Dubuque. Eastland 171, Polo 189: Andrew Whitmarsh's 3-over-par 39 led the Wildcats past the Marcos in a match held at Edgewood Golf Course. Josh Faivre led Polo with a 45. Bureau Valley 179, Williamsfield 189, Galva 193, Stark County 216: The Storm won a quadrangular match at Deer Valley Country Club. Cole Hewitt paced Bureau Valley with a 3-over-par 38. The medalist was Williamsfield's Jake Bowman with a 37.
