Deb is an Avon representative, based in Sterling, who sells skin care, makeup and other products. She is the daughter of Bob and Doretta Lathrop of Sterling. Deb has two brothers, Mike, of Basalt, Idaho, and Paul of Oregon, a sister, Machelle Gage of Bend, Ore.; and three nephews and three nieces. I graduated in: 1976, from Sterling High School. My philosophy to live by: Be honest. If I could change one thing about life: My health. My hero: Robert Spirakas, a former social studies teacher. He always referred to me as Miss Lathrop. He listened to you, and talked to you to make you understand. My idea of fun: Slow dancing. The best thing I've read recently: The Bible. My biggest phobia: Snakes. One person, dead or alive, I'd like to meet: My grandpa, Mack Blayney. He died when I was 5. Four phrases that describe me: Honest, ambitious, hard-working and self-motivated. My biggest pet peeve: People not using their turn signals. Something people don't know about me: I look healthy, but inside, I am in a lot of pain. If I could be any person for a day: My little girl, Tahlea Mathias. Even though she was born 10 weeks early, she was always smiling. She died when she was nine months old.
