Man charged after vehicle hits two houses

SVS STAFF STERLING - Police released the name of a man who allegedly was driving on the 500 block of West Seventh Street Friday when he hit two houses. Aaron N. Johnson, 32, of Dixon, is charged with failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving without a valid driver's license and driving under the influence. Johnson was driving a dark green 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on West Seventh Street when he lost control and struck the house at 506 W. Seventh St. His car then went across the street and hit the front of 505 W. Seventh St. Johnson was taken to CGH Medical Center. He later was treated and released from the hospital. He then was taken to Whiteside County Jail.
