BY GAZETTE STAFF
Alex T. Paschal/Gazette Park district employees Maggie Ellmaker, of Sterling, left, and Carly Payan, of Walnut, pull weeds Monday afternoon at Sterling's Lawrence Park Pool. The park district is expecting to have the pool open to the public by June 2.

Sterling Park District work crews have spent the last week readying Lawrence Park pool for the summer, and opening day is penciled in for June 2, said Doug Jacobs, Director of Parks and Planning.

The pool will be open 1 to 5:30 p.m. daily throughout the summer. Daily swim fees are $3.50 for ages 6 to 59 and $1.75 for ages 5 and younger and 60 and older, except for Wet Wednesdays, when it's $2 for everyone.

Individual and family passes also are available at the Duis Recreation Center, 211 E. St. Mary's Road. Family passes range in price from $93 for a family of two to $165 for a family of nine.

For more information, call the park district at (815) 622-6200.
