ROCK FALLS – James L. “Jim” White, 73, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, November 30, 2019, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born on November 18, 1946, in Sterling, the son of John Maxwell and Florence Lucille (Gordon) White. He married Lisa L. Hazen on November 22, 1996. Jim had worked for many years for the City of Rock Falls, retiring as superintendent of streets. He had enjoyed cooking, fishing and NASCAR racing. He took great pride in keeping up and driving his 1974 and 1992 corvettes. He was a social member of the Sterling American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa; his daughters, Patricia (Shane) Gordon of Walnut and Amy (Dave) Marschang of Dixon; his sons, James E. “Jim” White of Rock Falls and Jordan White (Mahala Larson) of Rock Falls; his sisters, Shirley Lewallen of Nelson, June Norman and Judy (Joe) Ostrander both of Sterling; his brother, John (Judy) White of Sterling; three grandchildren, (and another grandchild, Odin James Madsen White expected in March 2020) and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert M. White in July 1952.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls.
