STERLING – Minnie “Ruth” Hunsberger, age 85, of Sterling, died Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.

Ruth was born on March 2, 1934, in Florida, the daughter of Henry J. and Clara (Seales) Roberson. She married Harold R. Hunsberger on June 25, 1952, in MS. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2012. Ruth was a licensed beautician for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, craftwork and cooking. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sterling. 

Survivors include her daughters, Clarise Henson of Sterling and Robin Hunsberger of Nashville; two grandsons, Michael R. (Julie) Breed and Brandon W. (Kaylyn Anger) Johnson; and one great-grandson, Theodore R. Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Bertha Groen; one brother, Henry Jay Roberson; and one son-in-law, Daniel J. Henson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 10-11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Sterling. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Zack Mapes officiating. Burial will conclude at Prairieville Cemetery in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Sterling or Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
