PHOENIX – Judith Ann Vorhis Huyett, 80, formerly of Dixon, passed away on October 4, 2019, near her home in Phoenix, Arizona.

Her family will have a private service for her at a later date.

Judy was born in Dixon on February 16, 1939. She graduated from Dixon High School in 1957. She married her sweetheart Richard Huyett in December 1958. Richard and Judy moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1959.

Richard and Judy loved each other so very much, and they built a full life together over 57 years. Judy was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. Judy raised their three children while Richard worked in the transparent armor field. Judy was a devoted, fun-loving mother who always gave of her time and heart. She loved to cook and enjoyed playing piano. Together Richard and Judy taught their children the values of honesty, integrity, and how a kind heart can mean so much in this world.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Lavond and Ethel Vorhis; and her husband Richard, who passed away in October 2015.

She is survived by her children, Greg (Janel) Huyett; Maureen (Brian) Hemstreet; and Brian (Maria) Huyett; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom reside in Arizona. Judy is also survived by her beloved sister, Jean McGrain and brother-in-law, Leo McGrain of Franklin Grove, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Granny Rose Animal Shelter, 613 River Lane, Dixon, IL 61021, or simply consider a random act of kindness in Judy’s memory.
