9-year-old dies of injuries suffered in crash with farm vehicle

MORRISON – A 9-year-old Milledgeville girl injured Saturday morning when the car she was in hit a farm vehicle, has died, Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz said.

Jennifer M. Schryver, 45, of Milledgeville, was eastbound on state route 40 near Ridge Road in rural Sterling around 10:25 a.m. when she attempted to pass the tractor and struck the rear of a grain cart the tractor was pulling, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Schryver was taken to CGH Medical Center in Sterling; her daughter, Addison P. Headlee, the front passenger, was airlifted to Javon Bea Hospital – Riverside in Rockford, and died later that day, Sheriff John Booker said in a subsequent release this morning.

Seat belts were worn, Booker said, adding that the car sustained major damage when it struck the back of the cart.

The tractor driver, Kyle Aude, 19, of Chadwick, was not injured.
