Laws don’t keep us safe

There are laws that attempt to stop us from speeding, driving under the influence, and texting while driving, yet people are still being killed and injured daily from the breaking of these laws.

Should the government limit the speed of our vehicles to 30 miles per hour? Should alcohol become illegal? Should our cellphones be made inoperable while driving? Maybe our cars should be made inoperable while texting?

These are just a few examples of how many deaths occur daily as a result of laws being broken. I believe that the breaking of laws involving vehicles is responsible for many more deaths and injuries than gun violence.

Isn’t it about time that the government does something? Maybe a ban on automobiles altogether? In reading the news lately, may I suggest a ban on boats as well? What’s my point? You tell me.
