Her town was not on the ticket just a phone number. The annual 50-50 drawing has become quite the legend in Amboy with the drawing taking place at the end of the car show. Each year the jackpot creeps up around $100,000 for the winner. The pot was at $91,000 when the day started and every few hours updated totals were announced- $96,000, $98,000, $107,000, $125,000, $139,000, $166,000, $196,000 and finally $210,850. The crowd gathered and waited for the drawing to hear their name. Quest’s name was drawn and she won half of the pot. A couple of Sauk Valley residents did not walk away empty handed –áthe $5,000 consolation prizes went to Kris Wachs of Mount Morris and MacKenzie Hamlink of Amboy.
