STERLING – NAMI Sauk Area will offer a NAMI Family-to-Family Education Course of 10 classes over 5 weeks, for adult care givers and family members caring for a loved one with a mental illness.
The classes will meet twice a week, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, Oct. 16 through Nov. 16 at Rochelle Community Hospital, 900 N. Second St.
Topics include improved coping and problem solving skills, trained peer teachers, critical care-giving information and strategies, self care and stress management tools, development of crisis management skills, confidence building to support loved ones, and information on mental health conditions.
Class size is limited to 20 participants and phone registration is required.
