Nobody saw the ones that got away Saturday at Page Park in Dixon, where contestants weighed some pretty big catfish catches in the Cabela’s King Kat Fishing Tournament. The Dixon tournament – one of 21 along King Kat’s Tournament Trail this year – had been scheduled for June 1, but was pushed back to Aug. 3 due to flooding. The catfish tournament is held, according to its website, “to establish and expand a family-oriented, cost-effective and competitive arena for catfish anglers” and to promote and market products and services for its national sponsors. Organizers say King Kat is the largest catfish tournament organization in the nation. Go to kingkatusa.com for more information, tournament results and more.
