Whiteside County WingFest

ROCK FALLS – WingFest runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Whiteside County Airport, 10950 Hoover Road/state Route 40.

There will be free airplane rides for ages 8-17, a free learn-to-fly seminar, aircraft on display, free "tattoos" for kids, and Buffalo Wild Wings mascot Blazing Bill will be on hand.

Polo Town and Country Days

POLO – The 54th annual Town & Country Days, featuring a car show and swap meet, craft show, carnival, parade, fireworks, beer garden, volleyball and bags tournaments, music and food, returns to the downtown Friday through Sunday.

Kids Day runs from noon to 5 p.m. Friday; unlimited carnival rides armbands cost $20.

There's also a 50-50 raffle, a petting zoo, a dunk tank, kids water fights, bingo, a talent show, live music in the beer garden, Lyle Grobe and the Rhythm Ramblers play Sunday afternoon.

Rockin’ River Fest

OREGON – Rockin’ River Fest, featuring a beer garden, triathlon, bags tourney, tug across th Rock, interactive games, local food, and live entertainment, begins at noon Saturday, mostly on the banks of the Rock River, on north Second Street between Franklin and Washington streets.

Gates open at noon, admission is $3 for 13-17, $5 for adults, with entry points at Washington and Second and at Franklin and Second.

The “Adventure Triathlon” begins with registration from 6:30 to 8 a.m. at Oregon Park East .

The Oregon Lions Father's Day Car Show runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the park.

Juneteenth Freedom Festival

STERLING – The Juneteenth CommUNITY Freedom Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the YWCA of the Sauk Valley, 412 First Ave. downtown.

There will be local vendors, a baked goods sale, a DJ, a water slide, a bounce house, face painting, and a free hot dog lunch, all organized by the Diversity Committee of the Sauk Valley.

100 miles of sales

More on 34, offering more than 100 miles of yard sales along U.S. Route 34 between Galesburg and Aurora, will be luring junkers of all ages Friday and Saturday.
