DIXON – Harriet L. Taylor, 83, of Dixon, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon, IL. She worked for Dixon State School from 1972-1986, then Jack Mabley Developmental Center for 8 years retiring in 1992.

Harriet was born, September 6, 1935, in Kennebec, SD, the daughter of Martin and Alta (Dixon) Fitzpatrick. She married Benjamin Taylor on December 24, 1983, in Dixon, IL. Harriet was a long time member of Northside Baptist Church, Dixon, IL. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and Hawaii.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Taylor, one daughter; Cheryl (Wallace) Burdecki of Buffalo NY; six step-children, Sherry Monroe of Dixon, Rick (Lucy) Strub of, Pompano Beach, FL, Tim Taylor, Sr. of Dixon, Susan Johnson of Grand Detour, Ben Taylor of Dixon, Donna (David) Taylor of Dixon; five grandchildren, Tim Taylor, Jr. Donald Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Summer Trenhold; and three great grandchildren.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Craig Foldenauer; one stepson Ardie Strub; one brother, Alvin Fitzpatrick; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Northside Baptist Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Daniel Bentz, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling, IL.

A memorial has been established.
