STERLING – Focus Services is expanding again, and plans to fill 75 to 100 positions, which will bring its staff up to 250 to 275.
The inbound call center services provider in the Goodwill shopping center at 2214 E. Fourth St., is taking over the space next door, formerly occupied by Building Bridges of Sterling.
“We just found out that we have more work, so we’re going to need to expand the calling center that we just made and make it bigger for another 40 to 50 cubicles,” Focus Services recruiter Angela Montanez said Wednesday.
Focus Services does work in several industries including financial services, telecommunications, technology, retail, and government, and recently added Charter-Spectrum Communications to its portfolio, she said.
Its local operations began in 1995 in the former SuperValu grocery store in Rock Falls. The operation grew and moved across the Rock River in 2015 to its current building, which formerly housed Ace Hardware and Kroger.
Several shifts, from morning to late night, will be available, Montanez said.
The company prides itself on maintaining an interactive atmosphere among its employees, she added.
“We’re very family-oriented here. Everybody gets along, and we help clients with whatever needs they need when they’re calling in.”
Focus Services in Sterling is one of five locations in North America run by the Roy, Utah-owned company, with other locations in Clinton and Dubuque, Iowa and Ogden, Utah. It also has two locations in El Salvador and England, and one each in Nicaragua and the Philippines.
