Two hurt Sunday in Ogle rollover

OREGON – Two people were injured Sunday in a single-motorcycle rollover crash in the 17000 block of U.S. Route 52 West.

Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 6:13 p.m., and found a southbound motorcycle driven by Mike Elvin, 55, of Ashton, left the west edge of the roadway before overturning multiple times and coming to rest in the west ditch embankment.

Elvin was taken by Polo ambulance to KSB Hospital in Dixon, where his condition was unavailable Monday. His passenger, Carla Elvin, 44, of Ashton, was taken to KSB, then flown by helicopter to Javon Bea Hospital–Rockton in Rockford, where she remained in fair condition Monday.

Mike Elvin was charged with DUI-alcohol, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released.
