Expert to speak on US, Korea and Trump, Jong-Un relations

MORRISON – The Whiteside Forum will present a discussion on the relations between the U.S. and the Koreas at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison St.

Professor Duk Kim of St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, will discuss relations between the three countries, the relationship between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, and how these interactions play out around the world.

Kim is a native of South Korea who emigrated to the U.S. in 1990, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, teaches political science and leadership studies, and is an expert on Korean politics, East Asian Affairs and UN peace operations.

He is a naturalized U.S. citizen, but his mother still lives in South Korea. He also is president of World Affairs Council of the Quad Cities.
