Fundraiser Saturday offers adoptable dogs, wine and vendor goods

OREGON – The Happy Doggy is holding a “Change Their Luck!” fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Oak Lane, 3261 S. Daysville Road.

Proceeds will support PAWS Chicago, the Midwest’s largest no-kill animal shelter, and Feeding America, a hunger-relief organization.

The day will include a meet-and-greet with adoptable dogs from local area pet rescues, including Cause for Paws, which fosters animals from animal control, kill shelters and owners who surrender them; Unbreakable Bullies, also temporary caregivers for dogs and cats; and Greyhound Racers, which finds homes for retired racing greyhounds.

Amanda Ellis from OneHope, a Napa Valley winery, will provide a wine-tasting; wines sold help benefit a variety of charities. Oak Lane will provide a cash bar.

Beth Abbott Shenberger from Pampered Chef will donate 25 percent of her sales that day to Feeding America, and Laura Nordstrom will sell Stella & Dot clothing and accessories.
