'Beer for Breakfast'
BYRON – Byron Civic Theatre presents the comedy "Beer for Breakfast," a two-act play by Sean Grennan about a group of middle-aged buddies reuniting for a guys weekend, when Jessie, the wife of absent friend Adrian, shows up in his place.
Parental warning: There's some adult content.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets cost $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students, at 815-312-300, at www.byroncivictheatre.com or at the door at 850 N. Colfax St.
The show "Million Dollar Quartet," which was to be performed this weekend, was cancelled.
Antiques in Mount Morris
MOUNT MORRIS – The seventh annual annual February Finds Antique and Collectibles Market runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Moose Lodge Family Center, 485 E. Hitt St.
More than 20 dealers have reserved booths. Admission $3 for ages 12 and older, and proceeds benefit the Moose and the Mount Morris Work Group.
There also will be a bake sale, with proceeds benefiting the town's Let Freedom Ring festival.
Food and beverages will be sold.
Snow day revival!
DIXON – Last Saturday's snow put only a slight damper on attendance, and Mike Venier & The Downtown Rhythm Kings had so much fun that they're making a return to Rosbrook Studio, 107 S. Peoria Ave.
Doors open and 7 and the show begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $5; pizza and beverages by Mama Cimino’s will be sold.

Luther Nordic Choir in da house!
STERLING – The Lutheran Nordic Choir, a touring a capella choir from Luther College of Decorah, Iowa, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1701 16th Ave.
According to the school's website, the choir, founded in 1946, "enjoys national and international stature as one of the premier collegiate choral ensembles in the United States. Acclaimed for the way it honors the Lutheran choral tradition while also featuring new and innovative choral works, the choir showcases versatility, artistry, and technical mastery across many genres of music."
Admission is free; donations will be accepted for Unite Service Camp and the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center.
First Fridays in Mount Morris
MOUNT MORRIS – The First Fridays Open Stage music show returns to Mount Morris with a special show at 7 p.m. at Pinecrest Grove Theater, 414 S. Wesley Ave.
Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 7. Each musician or band performs for 15 minutes. Instruments are acoustic and a professional sound system is provided. The music will include country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, folk and soft rock. Food and beverages will be sold.
Admission is by donation. All musicians and spectators are welcome. Food and drink are available.
