DIXON – Charlotte E. Burrs, age 94, of Dixon, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris.

She was born April 20, 1924, in Dixon, the daughter of Walter and Florence (Lawton) Mueller. Charlotte had worked for LRB Distributors in Dixon and the Dixon Chamber of Commerce prior to her retirement. 

She enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, drawing, sketching and crossword puzzles.

She married Billy Burrs March 22, 1947, in Dixon. He preceded her in death January 3, 1978. She also was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Martha Steele Mueller.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Gary Burrs of Dixon, Janet Burrs of New Mexico, Michael (Denise) Burrs of Dixon, Steven Burrs of Mt. Morris, and Becky (Doug) Gascoigne of Dixon; five grandchildren, Christina (Scott) Wolfe, Brian (Kelly) Burrs, Brad (Shannon) Burrs, Paul (Danelle) Burrs, and Samuel Gascoigne; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Elaine (John) Cramer of Dixon; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. Heewon Kim, associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Dixon, officiating. Private burial will follow in Palmyra Cemetery in Sugar Grove. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
