ROCK FALLS – Barbara A. Dewald, 74, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling.
She was born Jan. 13, 1944, in Morrison, the daughter of Chester and Alpha (Johnson) Wolber. She married Craig Dewald on Feb. 17, 1963. in Sterling. He died Jan. 3, 2016. She had worked as a teller at Community State Bank. Barbara enjoyed horseback riding with her grandsons, camping and sewing.
Survivors include her two daughters, Catheryn Dewald of Rock Falls and Kimberly (Mike) Cady of Tampico; her daughter-in-law, Julie Dewald of Tampico; four sisters, Alverta Habben of Rockford, Donna Jean Walgren of Mount Morris, Carol Spears of Prophetstown and Joyce Sandrock of Sterling; six grandchildren, Matthew (Savana) Porter, Joshua (Shalea) Porter, Tyler (Kayla) Dewald, Logan (Mallory Anderson) Dewald, Seth Cady and Ross Cady; and six great-grandchildren, Raelee Mae, Collette Victoria, Dawson Lee, Analeigh Nicole, Hadely and Noah.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Todd; and two sisters, Jannalee Kulas and Lois Richmond.
A celebration of her life for family and friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Triple P BBQ, 3212 W. U.S. Route 30, Rock Falls. McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rock River Hospice & Home.
