PROPHETSTOWN – Joyce E. McGinn, 79, of rural Prophetstown, passed in peace Monday, Dec. 3, 2018.
She was a graduate of Sterling High School, a member of St. Andrew Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Joyce and her husband operated a dairy-grain farm, and for many years she assisted in tax preparations for various local firms. She was an avid fan of Newman Central Catholic High School sports, Alabama football, and the Chicago Cubs.
She was the beloved wife of Michael for 60 years; dear sister of Marilyn (Ralph) Westman; and loving mother of Kendra Franklin, Steve (Denise) McGinn, Debbie Abrams and Tom (Andrea) McGinn. She was the proud grandmother of Connor, John, Ben, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Kelly and Allyson; and a caring friend to many.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Richard M. Russo, celebrant officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
