STERLING – Saturday is the deadline for Whiteside County residents to apply for The Salvation Army Christmas assistance.
Those applying at the office at 409 Avenue F will need:
• Photo ID for those 16 and older.
• Medical card, birth certificates or school ID for all children up to 15 years old.
• Proof of address such as utility, medical or cable bill, bank statements, auto insurance, or automobile or voters registration.
The office will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. through Saturday.
Applicants must have required documents with them, applications will not be held for missing or forgotten documents.
Applicants also cannot register with any other agency for 2018 Christmas assistance, including Toys for Tots.
