HARMON – Robert Glenn Coleman, 71, of rural Harmon, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at his home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Sterling, the son of Glenn E. and Ruth (Hartshorn) Coleman. He attended Nelson Grade School and Rock Falls High School, and was a 1972 graduate of the University of Illinois. He married Mary Overmann on Aug. 30, 1980, in Dixon. He was a lifelong fifth-generation farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; their daughters, Leslie (Ryan Smith) Coleman of Denver, and Shelby (Taylor) Marvin of Urbandale, Iowa; two sisters, Sally (Phil) Tarvin of Dixon and Sue Wolf of Harmon; and one grandchild, Adrian Marvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Terry Wolf.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The family will be present from 10 to 10:45 a.m., and the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Harmon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sauk Valley Food Bank and Lee County 4-H Fair Association.
