WYANET – Arnold P. McCauley, 85, of Wyanet, died at 11:57 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at his home.

Arnold was born Aug. 17, 1933, at home in Five Points, near Arlington, to Edwin and Mary (Keleher) McCauley. He married JoAnne Doyle on Dec. 28,1957, at St. Louis Church in Princeton. Arnold served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He was a lifelong farmer in Deer Grove. He was a member of St. Louis Church and former member of the Tampico Lions Club. Arnold was a self-taught woodworker. He also earned his pilot’s license. Arnold enjoyed his deep-sea fishing in the Florida Keys for many years.

Arnold is survived by his daughters, Anne (Tom) Jackson of Rockford and Nora McCauley of Walnut; his sons, Vincent P. (Pamela) McCauley of Heber City, Utah, and John E. (Maryann) McCauley of Dubuque, Iowa; his grandchildren, Hayley and Alex Jackson, and Patrick (Nancy Soto Hernandez) Kelly and Margaret Kelly. Arnold also is survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary McCauley and June Doyle; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Patricia Quiram; and the Quiram family.

Arnold was preceded in death by his wife in 2013 and two brothers, Robert and John McCauley.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 4 p.m. vigil service, today at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Louis Church in Princeton, with the Rev. Daniel Gifford officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton. Princeton Veterans Memorial Group will conduct graveside services. Ptak Funeral Home in Peru is handling arrangements.
