DIXON – William Lee “Bill” Naylor, 71, of Dixon, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at his home. He worked for the Illinois Tollway for more than 20 years, retiring as a parts clerk.
Bill was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Dixon, the son of John Paul and Charlotte Mae (Anderson) Naylor. He married Jacquelyne K. “Jackie” Hobbs on May 19, 1996, in Dixon. Bill was a member of Dixon Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 779 and Dixon Moose Lodge 727. Bill also worked for his grandparents at SW Naylor & Co., and was Mayor of Dixon for one term. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fixing lawnmowers, and taking care of animals.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jackie Naylor; three children, Lori (Danny) Horton, Cindy L. Naylor and Billy (Susan) Naylor, all of Dixon; two stepsons, Jeffrey Hamilton of Los Angeles and Matthew Hamilton of Dixon; three siblings, James (Nancy) Naylor of Plainfield, Jerri (Brett) Coomber of McFarland, Wisconsin, and Joni (James) Fisher of McHenry; eight grandchildren and one on the way, Brenden, Hayden, and Jeffery Meredith, Isaiah and Elijah Naylor, Anelle Hofmann, Crystal (Kris) Horton, and Stephanie Horton.
The memorial graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, with the Rev. Josh Shaw, pastor of Hope Bible Fellowship in Dixon, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
