What is it like to deal with the dual role of being on the soccer & football teams?

It’s really fun. I have a busy
schedule, but I have a lot of fun doing it. It’s always fun doing everything with all of my friends, and to have a lot of teammates,
it’s a better time.

What happens if there’s a conflict?

It’s probably soccer [then].

What do you like and enjoy about soccer?

I love the competitiveness of it. Half of the time, it’s just like a
dogfight, going back and forth. It’s a long and tiring game, but it’s worth it.

What about football?

It’s really fun. Coach [Jon] Schlemmer always gets us really hyped, and the crowd is always going crazy. It gets up hyped up.

Do you prefer playing in the heat or the cold?

I like the warmer weather for both sports, because [it’s better] for kicking. My legs get really cold fast, and they start to stiffen up. When it’s warm outside, it keeps my legs feeling good.

Funniest soccer moment you’ve been a part of?

We have a new freshman on our team. If you remember Tony Diaz – we’re on the bus the other day and he kept laughing. He sounded exactly like Tony Diaz. Everybody on the bus just started cracking up.

How many of them were wondering if Tony was on the bus?

Everyone was like “Is Tony
on the bus?!?!”

What do you like to do in your free time?

I play a lot of Fortnite. I kind of stopped now because I don’t really have time.

Do you get amped up playing Fortnite just like you do with sports?

Toward the end of the game
I’ll take it more serious, but I just like messing around with it
and having fun.

Favorite music?

I like listening to rap.

What does it take to be a good soccer player?

You’ve just got to know a lot about the game. You’ve got to be able to read the game, that’s all it is. It’s more textbook than anything.

For football?

With kicking, it’s a lot about
technique. You’ve just got to get
your steps down.

College plans?

I want to study criminal justice.
Not sure if I’ll do any sports, or where at.

Why criminal justice?

My mom majored in criminal
justice. It seems interesting to
me, just seeing all of the crazy
people, watching “Cops” and
stuff, it makes me laugh.
It’s interesting, too.

What’s it going to take for the soccer team to rebound from some early struggles?

We’ve just got to take practice and warm-ups with more discipline. We have some injuries right now, and that’s setting us back, but we need to step up on possession and hit all of the right spots.
