Art in the Park Sculpture Tour to debut Saturday

ROCK FALLS – The Art in the Park Sculpture Tour will debut from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the park, 301 E. Second St.

Ten Chicago artists will be in town to display their works and discuss their creations over fine wines and craft beers.

Class Act II will bring its music to the riverfront, adding another cultural element to the evening.

The art can be bought, but not until the public has a chance to enjoy it. Rock Falls Tourism Director Janell Loos said the art will be displayed at the park – well-protected in covered pedestals – for 1 year, then buyers can take their pieces home.

Each September, new pieces will be brought in to replace the ones that were sold. Loos has already been working with Woodlawn Arts Center to bring local artists into next year’s showcase.

Call Loos at 815-622-1106 or go to visitrockfalls.com for more information about Art in the Park.
